Frequently Asked Questions
Contributors Questions
-
Q: Why should I care?
A: Because you, your children and your grandchildren are inheriting a planet that can't continue to support their lives unless we act now to stop pollution & global warming by changing our energy production methods.
-
Q: If free energy devices really exist and work, why don't we have them now?
A: We do "have" them now-safely locked away in the vaults of the energy industry corporations and patent offices. When the oil is gone, the "new" technologies will be rolled out-but too late for our planet and pocket books. Once again, large power corporations will control and require payment for energy that really belongs to everyone.
-
Q: Why are you asking for so much money?
A: We need the money to do two things; to raise public awareness of the problem and to create a lab where inventors can work in a safe and structured way to build the devices we need. For perspective, we want $3 million to develop devices for world wide safe electrical power while Hollywood just spent $200 million making the movie " Iron Man" to entertain the world. Which endeavor can help you the most?
-
Q: Why don't you get government grants?
A: We are applying for government grants, military grants, and other energy-related grants as well. But the grant writing process is slow, and much of the national energy grant money is being given to "half-way or short term solutions" such as bio-fuels and new types of light bulbs. Powerful energy interests do not want us to receive grants that could create disruptive technologies. We are appealing to individuals because we believe that you understand the problem and will take action to make this change happen.
-
Q: Why don't you get a few large investors?
A: Many large investors are waiting in the wings until a proven device is released. They know the vast financial potential at stake. Unfortunately they are generally more interested in making money than they are in solving the problem.
-
Q: If I donate now, how long will it take for me to be able to purchase such a device?
A: No one knows the exact answer, but our best estimate is that it will take 12-18 months to bring the device to market once a robust prototype is developed.
-
Q: How will my donation be used?
A: Your donation will be used to pay for the time and materials needed by inventors working on promising technologies right now, and for building and equipping a research lab where this development can be accelerated.
-
Q: Why are you so confident you can succeed where others have failed?
A: Our confidence comes from knowing the methods that have been used to suppress such projects in the past, and the importance of open source information to protect both the inventors and their inventions. Dr. Greer has 25 years of experience in this realm.
-
Q: Which technologies will you fund with the $3 million?
A: We will fund those that show the most promise for reaching the goal of creating a safe, above unity device with no pollution that provides at least 10 KW of usable electrical power as a stand alone unit. Two technologies currently being explored are thermal gradient technology and pulsed motor generators. Thermal gradient technology uses existing heating and cooling materials to extract heat energy from the environment and then uses it for running a motor to produce electricity. Pulsed motor technology uses specialized motors that are "pushed" by permanent magnets to produce more electrical power than they consume when they run, i.e. an above unity motor. We are constantly seeking qualified devices and inventors.
-
Q: Is the budget realistic for attracting the "best" scientists and inventors?
A: Although many inventors are driven by money or prestige, some of the best today know it is urgent to get their discoveries out into the world. They have agreed to work at modest salaries because they want to be of service and because they know that TOP can help them get to the public market with their discoveries whereas they can not do it alone.
-
Q: Who are the Orion Project Board members?
A: The TOP board consists of Dr. Steven Greer, Dr. Jan Bravo, and Bill Costantino, all professionals of 30 years or more and well-respected in their fields. Combined, their experience in industrial manufacturing, medical technology, military systems, science, and political/governmental connections is greater than 75 years. In May 1992, Dr. Greer successfully lead a major public relations campaign, The Disclosure Project, making sensitive and suppressed information available to the public. Bill Costantino is a chemical engineer with a lifetime passion for sustainable energy technologies. There is also a core team of four men and three women surrounding and serving the board with strong experience in the fields of marketing, communications, business administration, and networking.
-
Q: Who is Dr, Steven Greer?
A: Dr. Steven Greer is a practical visionary. As an emergency room Physician, husband, and father of four, he is practical and knows real world life in America. Raised in a poor family and having had two near death experiences, he also knows the spiritual imperative that humanity must take responsibility for living equitably and in peace with each other and all life. Dr. Greer has dedicated the last 17 years of his life to exploring and understanding cutting edge energy technologies to solve our global energy crisis.
-
Q: How is TOP affiliated with AERO or CSETI?
A: TOP has no formal affiliation with CSETI, AERO, or the Disclosure Project. Dr. Greer sits on the TOP board, and many people who support other organizations also support TOP. Still, TOP is an independent non- profit corporation working to fulfill its stated goals. TOP will partner with bonafide Organizations that are committed to promoting its vision of free, safe, clean energy production for all people.
-
Q: Do I get a tax deduction for my donation when I donate from a country outside of the USA?
A: Because of the complicated regulations involved in international donations, TOP can not guarantee that countries outside the USA will honor your donation as a tax deduction. We suggest you consult with your tax advisor if your donation requires tax deductible status.
Volunteer Questions
-
Q: If I do not have money to donate, how can I help?
A: How would you like to help? TOP is growing rapidly and needs people who have time and skills to donate. Please see the volunteer page for an application form with description of the skills we are seeking at this time. If your skills are not listed, please fill out the application and describing what you would like to do. The Volunteer coordinator will call you to explore your ideas.
-
Q: What can I do to get started now and what resources are available to me?
A: To get started just go to the website, select the volunteer page, fill it out, and email it to us. We will review it, call you to talk about what would work for you, and connect you with a team leader. We will support you in every way we can; supplying advice, tools, materials, and other help as needed for the task.
-
Q: What is the most important thing I can do to help right now?
A: The most important thing you can do right now is take some time to think about how you can tell others about TOP and refer them to the website. We need to raise money and do other things that depend on many people hearing about and responding to our message, so please help us get the word out in every way you can!
