Australian Fundraiser a Success!
Entirely on his own initiative, Michael Green of Australia decided to sponsor a local activity in support of The Orion Project. On July 13th Michael lead "The Walk of Inspiration" from Toogoom to Dundowran. Below is an e-mail Michael sent notifying us of what he has done. We were amazed and delighted at his initiative and the results he achieved at a local level. His walk was also covered by local newspapers providing even more free media exposure for our mission. This serves as a great inspiration for us all to consider what actions we might take right in our own neighborhoods with our circle of contacts. Michael's e-mail to our webmaster sent on July 16th, 2008. This was the first we ever heard from Michael:
Dear Sir/Madam,
The Walk Of Inspiration event was a great success! We had 59 participants ( 58 Humans and 1 Canine :) ) that arrived on the day to be involved in the event. As well as sharing a very uplifting experience together we were able to raise a total of $1,423.75 AUD for The Orion Project!
This ended up being one of the most memorable and significant experiences of my life as during the event I was able to facilitate a special "Positive Unity and One World Peace Meditation/Visualization". For three successive mornings leading up to the event I intuitively felt to grab a note pad and pencil and began writing it.
I send heartfelt thanks to all of the team members of The Orion Project for the importance of that which you have created, and for giving me the opportunity to be called forward in such a positive direction. I feel a deep sense of gratitude and humility because so many of the Integrated Academy students, friends and families all got to share in a very beautiful and meaningful experience for such a great cause.
